Every other year my best friends from school and I go on holiday together. This year we decided to visit a small town in the south of Spain called Arriate. As there’s 13 of us, we always manage to get beautiful places to stay and this year was no exception.
What are these photos about? (Optional)
A 15 minute drive from where we were staying was a small vineyard called Chinchilla. We decided we’d take in the sights and of course taste ourselves some wine.
We were taken around the estate and told how the wine was made and then it was time for the main event…tasting the wine! We got to taste all of their range accompanied with the perfect tapas.
Near Arriate is a bigger town called Ronda, which is famous for having a huge bridge with beautiful views and the oldest working bull ring in Spain.
The bridge didn’t disappoint, you could see for miles and the structure of the bridge itself looked like something from Lord of the Rings.
I can’t say I agree with bull fighting and was slightly ashamed to pay to get in and effectively fund the sport, but visiting the bull ring was interesting just for the acoustics of the place. Stand in the middle and clap and the effect is brilliantly unexpected.
Of course, we also wondered into the small town our villa overlooked. Arriate is a great little town where everyone seems to know eachother. Also, some of the tapas we tried there was excellent.
