I was recently in Berlin for work, which consisted of working 14 hour days for a solid week, sadly meaning I only had a single day to explore the city.
The first place I headed was the Berliner Dom, a beautiful cathedral with a brilliant green roof. Luckily the weather was gorgeous, which meant the Dom was bathed in beautiful sunshine.
No matter where you are in Berlin, you can always see the Fernsehturm, a huge TV tower. I wanted to get up close both day and night so I visited in the morning and returned later to see it lit up in all it’s glory.

I headed to the northern area of the Berlin Wall for what was actually quite an emotional visit. I didn’t really know much about Germany when it was split in two. Spending time at the wall reading the stories of some of the people who had died trying to flee from one side to the other really got me.
I headed on over to the governmental area of Berlin with a visit to the world famous Reichstag and a walk around the amazingly modern government buildings.
I only had 24 hours to explore Berlin but in the time I had their I got a really good vibe from the city. I felt really comfortable being there, there was so much to see and everyone seemed really cool and nice.
Since my stay I’ve decided I need to go there for a longer trip next time and I’m even considering moving there longer term…
