London has been beautiful this weekend, the sun has been out and to make the most of it we headed over to Kew Gardens. We weren’t the only ones with that idea, it was really busy and there were loads of families there enjoying the sights.
We were in and out of many of the beautiful glasshouses around Kew and I was fascinated by the huge array of textures around. I got up as close as my macro lens would allow.
While we were in one of the glasshouses, we stumbled upon an algae exhibition. It was supposed to showcase the huge array of algae in the world, but if we’re honest it is the fish that live amongst it all that really captivate the interest.
The upside down jellyfish, which I had never heard of before, were the highlight for me. They look like they’re from another world and they’re beautifully coloured.
There is currently an Orchid exhibition on at Kew, so we headed over to check out what all the fuss was about. The exhibition isn’t exclusively Orchids (obviously they are the star of the show) and features a huge variety of gorgeously coloured flowers. It really made me feel like spring had begun.
What are these photos about?
If you’re in London and it’s a nice day, then you should give Kew a go. There’s lots to do for all the family, it really is a gorgeous setting and certainly left me feeling relaxed.
I liked it so much I became a member, so I get free entry for the next 12 months, which means I’ll be heading back there any chance I get :-)
